On Thursday morning, Rose Associates announced some upcoming plans for holiday events in Stuyvesant Town, including a seasonal ice skating rink on the Oval and Christmas tree and menorah lightings.
Additionally, the traditional ST/PCV Halloween carnival will take place on Sunday, October 30 complete with horse and carriage rides around the Oval.
In an e-mail sent to residents, management said the ice rink will open on Sunday. November 26 and remain open until February.
As for December holiday plans, the e-mail read:
The Oval is now home to a permanent Holiday tree. A magnificent Oriental Spruce, transplanted from Pennsylvania, will occupy a central place in the Oval for generations to come. The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 1st, followed by a Menorah Lighting on each night of Hanukkah as well as a Festival of Lights celebration.
