MAN ARRESTED FOR SECOND AVENUE ‘BURGLARY’
Twenty-year-old Khaleel Lofton was arrested for burglary in front of 501 Second Avenue last Tuesday at 11:44 a.m. A witness told police that Lofton entered the victim’s Kips Bay apartment building between 28th and 29th Streets through a shut rear window. The victim said that she didn’t know Lofton and definitely didn’t invite him into the apartment. Police said that Lofton fled the scene but he was stopped shortly after by officers nearby.
STABBING AT PRINCE GEORGE HOTEL
Police arrested 54-year-old Felicia Sweat for assault last Sunday at 5:50 p.m. in the Prince George Hotel at 14 East 28th Street. Police said that Sweat stabbed the victim in the foot and leg, and he sustained cuts to his leg as a result.
CABBIE BUSTED FOR ‘IMPRISONING’ PASSENGER OVER FARE
Police arrested 43-year-old Harpal Singh for unlawful imprisonment last Friday at 9:56 p.m. inside the 13th Precinct. Singh allegedly locked the victim in the back of his cab, confining her there against her will for over an hour due to a dispute over the cab fare. Singh allegedly told police that he did in fact lock her in because he wanted to get his money.
WALLET STOLEN FROM LOCKER AT GYM
Police arrested 42-year-old Luis Vega for grand larceny inside Steel Gym at 146 West 23rd Street last Thursday at 9:19 p.m. Police said that Vega stole a wallet from a locker, and he was allegedly caught on video surveillance making purchases at three different locations with credit cards that were inside the victim’s wallet.
BAR FIGHT OUTSIDE SLATE
Police arrested 35-year-old Dara Riccardi for assault in front of Slate at 54 West 21st Street last Thursday at 9:51 p.m. Riccardi allegedly struck another woman across the head multiple times with a glass cup after an argument at a bar. Police said that the victim sustained cuts and was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she received numerous stitches around the left side of her face.
MAN BUSTED FOR STARBUCKS TIP JAR ‘THEFT’
Police arrested 31-year-old Pedro Maldonado for petit larceny inside the Starbucks at 315 Seventh Avenue last Sunday at 8:52 a.m. Police said that Maldonado reached into the tip jar and grabbed the cash tips that were there before fleeing.
MAN BUSTED FOR ‘SHOPLIFTING’ AT DELI
Police arrested 32-year-old Romain Daniels after he allegedly shoplifted from a deli and then, after being caught by a manager, went back into the store to confront the man.
Police said that Daniels went into the Bower Deli at 35 East 28th Street last Monday at 7:57 p.m. and took an item from the shelf. He allegedly hid it before walking out without paying. That’s when the store manager said that he followed Daniels outside and managed to get the item back. But Daniels then walked right back into the store and behind the counter, before being arrested. He was charged with petit larceny and criminal trespass.
MAN ARRESTED FOR ‘DAMAGING’ CAR
Police arrested 25-year-old Demike Sanchez Colello for criminal mischief last Sunday at 6:34 p.m. at the corner of Sixth Avenue and West 28th Street. Police said that Sanchez Colello intentionally picked up a cement block and threw it at a parked vehicle, which damaged the windshield.
MAN BUSTED FOR ‘PUSHING’ VICTIM INTO WINDOW
Police arrested 27-year-old Dornell Lyons for assault last Thursday at 12:40 p.m. inside the 13th Precinct. The victim said that Lyons pushed him into a glass window south east corner of 29 Street and Third Avenue on March 10 at 6:30 a.m., causing a cut above his right eye. Police said that Lyons also followed the victim down the block and hit him again in the torso.
NABBED FOR SMOKING ‘CRACK’ IN UNION SQUARE
Police arrested 47-year-old Lesly Dorsaint for possession of a controlled substance last Wednesday at 2:39 p.m. at the corner of Union Square West and East 15th Street. Police said that Dorsaint was smoking crack in a public place.
MAN ARRESTED IN ‘DRUG DEAL’ IN UNION SQUARE
Police arrested 46-year-old Michael Pilgrim for sale of a controlled substance in front of Beth Israel’s Phillips Ambulatory Care Center at 10 Union Square West last Thursday. Police said that at 2:45 p.m., a man went up to Pilgrim and said, “Liam is there and wants six bags. Don’t service him. There is no loyalty.” Pilgrim was then approached by four other men who were walking south and he police said that he handed one of the men a bag of alleged heroin. When he was searched, he was in possession of an additional quantity of heroin, and he was also charged with sale on school grounds and intent to sell a controlled substance.
MAN NABBED FOR ‘THEFT’ FROM UBER
Police arrested 57-year-old Antonio Velasquez for petit larceny last Thursday at 8:07 p.m. in front of 48 West 25th Street. Velasquez allegedly took merchandise from an Uber taxi and handed the item over to another man who wasn’t arrested.
