Police Watch: Man arrested for 2015 murder, Woman mugged in Union Square

MAN ARRESTED FOR 2015 MURDER AT LILLIAN WALD HOUSES
Police arrested 22-year-old Shaquille Fuller for murder and criminal possession of a weapon last Thursday for a homicide that took place in 2015. Police responded to an assault in front of the Lillian Wald Houses at 20 Avenue D near East 3rd Street last February 23 around 4:33 p.m. and discovered that a 33-year-old man had been shot four times. EMS responded to the scene and took the victim to Beth Israel Hospital, but he couldn’t be saved. The victim was later identified as Shemrod Isaac.

WOMAN MUGGED, BEATEN WITH SKATEBOARD IN UNION SQUARE
Police arrested 22-year-old Brittany Middlebrooks last Thursday after she allegedly attacked another woman at Union Square Park on September 12 around 7 p.m. Middlebrooks allegedly hit the victim in the head and body with a skateboard, causing her pain, bruising and swelling. The victim also noticed that her cell phone was allegedly missing after she was attacked. Middlebrooks was arrested for assault and robbery.

TEEN BUSTED FOR ROBBERY AT THIRD AND EAST 14TH
Police arrested a teenager for robbery and possession of stolen property at the corner of Third Avenue and East 14th Street last Wednesday at 3:49 p.m. The teen approached the victim and said, “Give me your phone or I’m going to hurt you.” The victim complied and handed his phone over, and the suspect made the victim reset his phone. The teen then fled but police searched the area and arrested him. Police said that the teen attends the Green School and his name is being withheld due to his age.

MAN ROLLS TRASH CANS AT COP CAR
Police arrested 22-year-old Christian Valencia for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct in front of 646 Sixth Avenue last Wednesday at 9:33 p.m. Police said that Valencia rolled two garbage cans into the path of a moving police vehicle, causing the vehicle to swerve and creating a risk of serious physical injury to the driver.

MAN VIOLENTLY ROBBED AT MCDONALD’S
Fifty-year-old Robert Wilson was arrested for robbery inside the McDonald’s at 26 East 23rd Street last Saturday at 2:32 a.m. Police said that Wilson got into an argument with someone that escalated into a physical fight, with Wilson allegedly punching the victim in the face, causing swelling and redness. While the victim was on the ground, Wilson allegedly punched him repeatedly and police said that Wilson grabbed the victim’s phone from his pocket and fled the scene.

MAN BUSTED FOR STEALING CITI BIKE ON EAST 14TH STREET
Police arrested 28-year-old Andre Medina at the corner of Third Avenue and East 14th Street last Friday at midnight after he allegedly stole an unattended Citi Bike from the sidewalk. Along without paying for a pass for the bike, Medina had also allegedly swiped items from a nearby store. He was charged with grand larceny and possession of stolen property, petit larceny and another count of possession of stolen property.

TEEN ARRESTED FOR WAVING KNIFE AT KIDS ON WEST 14TH
Police arrested a teen for assault, reckless endangerment and weapons possession in front of 67 West 14th Street last Friday at 9:20 a.m. The teenager was seen on video swinging a knife in his right hand at victim’s, attempting to cause serious physical injury. Police said that he recklessly swung the knife in the direction of other kids who were standing on the sidewalk. The teen’s name is being withheld due to his tender age.

MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON WEST 21ST
Police arrested 24-year-old Martin Tobias for assault in front of 54 West 21st Street last Saturday at 2:06 a.m. Police said that Tobias was fighting with someone in front of the location when another person stepped in between them in an attempt to break up the fight. Tobias then allegedly kicked the victim in the head, causing swelling and a bruise.

ASSAULT BY GARBAGE CAN ON BROADWAY
Police arrested 25-year-old Dan Falcone for assault in front of 1165 Broadway last Sunday at 2:52 a.m. Falcone allegedly punched the victim in the face, causing swelling under his right eye and bleeding to his nose. Police said that Falcone also threw a garbage can at the victim and a witness said that Falcone kicked the victim.

MAN BREAKS OTHER MAN’S GLASSES ON EAST 23RD STREET
Police arrested 26-year-old Jonathan Leduc for assault and criminal mischief last Wednesday at 9:05 a.m. at 230 East 23rd Street. Police said that Leduc attempted to punch the victim in the face but missed and then intentionally broke the victim’s reading glasses.

PAIR BUSTED FOR THEFT AT PARK AVENUE SOUTH AND EAST 28TH STREET
Police arrested 44-year-old Lola Hayes and 56-year-old Charles Terry for grand larceny and possession of stolen property at the corner of Park Avenue South and East 28th Street last Thursday at 2:23 a.m. Police said that Hayes and Terry were working together to swipe more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from a store nearby. They allegedly left the store without paying and were arrested across the street. Hayes was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance because she had an alleged crack pipe with residue and Terry was also charged with burglar’s tools.

MEN ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING IN UNION SQUARE
Police arrested 41-year-old Jesus Santiago, 42-year-old Clifford Bleus and 30-year-old Jael Peralta Nunez at the corner of Union Square and East 15th Street last Friday at 12:38 a.m. after they allegedly shoplifted nearby. Police said that Santiago and Bleus stole merchandise while Peralta Nunez allegedly acted as a lookout. All three men were charged with petit larceny and Peralta Nunez, who was allegedly in possession of heroin and a small bag of marijuana, was also charged with intent to sell a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Santiago was also charged with theft and Bleus was additionally charged with possession of stolen property.

MAN TRIES TO RUN OFF WITH THREE BOXES OF CANDY BARS AT DUANE READE
Police arrested 48-year-old Ronald Winborne after he allegedly tried to steal two boxes of Kit Kats and two boxes of Hershey bars from the Duane Reade at 777 Sixth Avene last Thursday evening. Police said that Winborne concealed the candy bars inside his pants, and he was allegedly outside the store with the goods without having paid for it.
