Police Watch: Former Sweetgreen employee accused of gunpoint robbery, ‘Drunk’ driver arrested outside Stuy Town

FORMER EMPLOYEE BUSTED FOR GUNPOINT ROBBERY AT FLATIRON RESTAURANT
Police arrested 24-year-old Johnell Turner for allegedly robbing Sweetgreen, an organic food restaurant at 8 East 18th Street.
Police said Turner, who was arrested last Wednesday, turned a gun on an employee and demanded money from the locked petty cash safe. He allegedly asked the employee, “Do you want to die for Sweetgreen?” while pointing the gun at him. The victim told police that Turner is a former employee at the restaurant and was also known as Michael Turner.

‘DRUNK’ DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER FALLING OUT OF CAR IN FRONT OF STUY TOWN
Police arrested 22-year-old Joshua Tutivan for alleged intoxicated driving at the corner of First Avenue and East 20th Street last Thursday at 1:06 a.m. Tutivan drove from East Houston Street along the FDR to East 20th Street and First Avenue, where he allegedly stopped and fell out of the vehicle, semiconscious and vomiting when police found him. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital for severe intoxication and after he was treated, police said that he refused a blood test to determine his blood alcohol level.

BETH ISRAEL GUARD ASSAULTED
Police arrested 22-year-old Allen Donovan for assault inside Mount Sinai Beth Israel at 281 First Avenue last Monday at 2:51 a.m. Police said that Donovan elbowed the victim, a security guard at the hospital, in the face and caused bruising, swelling and pain. Donovan also allegedly punched the guard in the face.

OFFICER AT BELLEVUE ASSAULTED
Police arrested 37-year-old Samuel Grant for assault of a peace officer inside Bellevue Hospital at 462 First Avenue last Monday at 10:15 p.m. Police said that Grant punched the officer in the face while he was in police custody.

MAN WANTED FOR CREDIT CARD THEFTS
Police are looking for a man responsible for thefts throughout the city starting earlier this year. A resident of Staten Island told police on Saturday, July 9 that his credit card had been compromised and after an investigation, police learned that his card had been used to withdraw $1,800 from an ATM at 675 Third Avenue near Grand Central. Police later found that the suspect was responsible for 37 incidents throughout the city, including in the 13th precinct.
Numerous victims said that their bank representatives informed them between April 14 and July 9 that their credit card numbers had been compromised and the suspect had used the information to withdraw about $40,000 in cash from various banks.
The man is described as white, 23 to 35 years old, 6’0”, 200lbs and with a beard. He was last seen wearing a black and white baseball cap, a white long sleeve shirt, a black shirt and he wore glasses. COPS LOOKING FOR L TRAIN PICKPOCKET
Cops are asking for assistance identifying a man who allegedly pickpocketed a fellow straphanger on a northbound L train near Union Square.
The victim, a 24-year-old man said that his wallet and cell phone were snatched as he rode the train on Saturday, October 1, at 4:30 a.m. Once he discovered the thefts, he called his bank and learned there had been fraudulent purchases.
A surveillance photograph shows a man making unauthorized purchases with the victim’s credit cards inside Walgreens and Duane Reade located at 1430 Broadway and 333 7th Avenue Manhattan.
The suspect is described as black, and was last seen wearing a striped shirt, black jeans and black sneakers.

MAN HIT ON HEAD WITH CHAIR AT THIRD AVENUE DUNKIN DONUTS
Police arrested 54-year-old Aldo Guerrini and 21-year-old Gary Cheatham for assault inside the Dunkin Donuts at 355 Third Avenue last Monday at 4:37 a.m. Guerrini told police that he was sitting inside the coffee shop when Cheatham approached him and allegedly struck him on the head with a chair. Guerrini retaliated by allegedly punching Cheatham in the face, causing swelling and minor bleeding. Guerrini suffered from bruising, pain and swelling to his forehead, face and shoulder as a result of the incident.

MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON EAST 27TH
Police arrested 58-year-old Robin Merritt for assault in front of 134 East 27th Street last Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Police said that Merritt struck the victim in the face, causing bleeding, pain and swelling. No further information about how the fight started was available.

MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON SECOND AVENUE
Police arrested 54-year-old Scott Reed for assault in front of 305 Second Avenue last Friday at 7:28 p.m. Police said that Reed got into an argument with the victim and allegedly pushed the victim to the ground, causing a cut on his head and lip. The victim was treated at Bellevue Hospital.

MAN BUSTED FOR LEAVING SCENE OF CAR ACCIDENT
Police arrested 34-year-old Mike Arcentales at the 13th Precinct last Saturday at 12:05 p.m. for leaving the scene of an accident, causing personal injury. Police said that Arcentales left the scene of an accident that resulted in the victim being taken to the hospital. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and was released.

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT IN UNION SQUARE
Police arrested 22-year-old Tiffany Ramos for assault at the corner of East 17th Street and Union Square West last Saturday at 6:31 p.m. Police said that with intent to cause physical injury, Ramos punched the victim in the face, causing swelling, bleeding and pain. The victim was treated at the scene and was removed to Lenox Hill Hospital.

MAN ARRESTED FOR FIGHT IN MCDONALD’S
Police arrested 23-year-old Michael Basta for assault at the corner of Park Avenue South and East 28th Street last Sunday at 2:32 a.m. Police said that Basta accused the victim of cutting him and his girlfriend in line at McDonald’s and he allegedly punched the victim in the face, causing redness and swelling. Basta was arrested in the train station near the restaurant when he was positively identified to police by the victim.

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ‘DRUNK’ DRIVING IN FLATIRON
Forty-year-old Barbara Urrutia-Gonzalez was arrested for an unclassified traffic infraction and impaired driving last Saturday at 1:39 a.m. at the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 23rd Street. Police said that Urrutia-Gonzalez was involved in a car accident involving two other vehicles. The suspect allegedly rear-ended the vehicles at the intersection. Police said that she had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. She allegedly refused a Breathalyzer test at the scene.
