MAN NABBED FOR SWINGING CROWBAR AND MAKING THREATS MCDONALD’S
Police arrested 38-year-old George Boone for menacing inside the McDonald’s at 26 East 23rd Street last Thursday at 8:58 a.m. The victim told police that he was waiting in line at the restaurant when Boone allegedly came up behind him and began swinging a metal crowbar at him. The victim said that Boone said, “Who wants to die today?”
MAN WANTED FOR MULTIPLE CELL PHONE STORE THEFTS
The NYPD is looking for a man believed to be behind a string of thefts from cell phone stores in Gramercy, Midtown and the Upper West Side.
The suspect reportedly swiped two cell phones from a Verizon Store at 395 Third Avenue on Sunday, January 22 at 5:15 p.m. by cutting the security devices. Police said that he fled in an unknown direction.
Earlier in the month on Saturday, January 7 at 3:25 p.m., the suspect took two cell phones from an AT&T Store located at 2066 Broadway near West 72nd Street and fled without paying. Twenty minutes later, he reportedly cut the security devices on two cell phones inside a Metro PC store located at 664 Ninth Avenue at West 46th Street and fled without paying.
On January 18 at 6:35 p.m., the suspect reportedly entered a T-Mobile store at 610 Ninth Avenue near West 43rd Street and removed two cell phones by cutting the security devices, then fled north on Ninth Avenue.
The suspect is described as 5’10”, 165-175 lbs. and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a quarter-length over coat. He has a distinctive scar on the left side of his head right above the ear.

MAN NABBED FOR PUNCHING BOUNCER
Thirty-year-old Felix Chaco was arrested for assault at the corner of Sixth Avenue and West 21st Street last Sunday at 4:07 a.m. Police said that the victim was working security at a nearby nightclub when he saw Chaco involved in a fight with other people. The guard attempted to break up the fight when Chaco allegedly punched him in the face, causing a cut on his lower lip.
MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUNK DRIVING
Police arrested 33-year-old Jota Garmeav for intoxicated driving in front of 222 East 19th Street last Monday at 5:50 p.m. Police were responding to a call to the location and when they arrived, Garmeav was allegedly behind the wheel of the car sleeping with the key in the ignition and the engine running. Police said that when they opened the door, Garmeav had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and bloodshot, watery eyes. When police asked him to get out of the car, Garmeav allegedly could not stand and he fell. Police said that he had an open bottle of wine in the car as well as a can of beer.
BUST FOR SELLING XANAX IN KIPS BAY
Police arrested 59-year-old Santos Vargas for sale of a controlled substance last Tuesday at 8:06 a.m. at the corner of East 24th Street and Second Avenue. Police said that Vargas was selling Xanax on the sidewalk for cash and when police stopped him, he allegedly attempted to swallow the pills. Police said that he spit the pill onto the sidewalk after he was ordered to.
MAN ARRESTED FOR CVS BURGLARY
Police arrested 52-year-old Raymond Williams for burglary last Tuesday at 1:40 p.m. inside the 13th precinct for previous incidents in the neighborhood. Police said that Williams entered the CVS at 300 Park Avenue South, as well as the CVS at 215 Park Avenue South, on January 19 and attempted to take items from the store without paying. Police said that Williams had previously been issued a “no trespassing” notice on September 29, 2016 forbidding him from entering all CVS locations.
MAN ARRESTED FOR RIDING STOLEN CITI BIKE
Police arrested a 47-year-old John Doe for grand larceny in front of 401 Park Avenue South last Saturday at 2:12 a.m. Police said that the man was riding a Citi Bike on the sidewalk and when he was stopped, he allegedly said that the bike had been left unattended and he took it without permission. Police said that he refused to provide his name or identification.
MAN ARRESTED FOR NONPAYMENT AT TURKISH KITCHEN
Police arrested 63-year-old Samuel Samor for theft of services at Turkish Kitchen inside 386 Third Avenue last Tuesday at 11:44 p.m. Police said that Samor ate dinner at the restaurant and when he attempted to pay the bill, the card was declined. He had no other means to pay the check so he allegedly walked out without paying.
WOMAN ARRESTED FOR SNATCHING LAPTOP
Police arrested 51-year-old Shemequa White for petit larceny last Tuesday at 12:22 a.m. inside 120 East 25th Street. Police said that White was seen in video taking the victim’s laptop from a hallway in the building.
STREET VENDORS ARRESTED
Police arrested a handful of street vendors for various violations last week.
One vendor, 55, was arrested for an unclassified misdemeanor in front of 132 West 28th Street last Thursday at 2 p.m. Police said that he was displaying and offering for sale more than 20 flowers without a Department of Consumer Affairs general vendor’s license.
Police also arrested a 65-year-old for allegedly selling merchandise without a DCA license in front of 200 Fifth Avenue last Friday at 12:45 p.m. Police said that he was selling more than 20 cell phone accessories without a DCA license. He was charged with an unclassified misdemeanor.
A 52-year-old man was arrested for forgery in front of 942 Broadway last Friday at 1:50 p.m. Police said that he was displaying and offering for sale 30 cell phone cases that had a counterfeit trademark for Otterbox.
