Man wanted for East Side bank robberies

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in finding a man wanted for two bank robberies on the East Side.

Most recently, the suspect went into a Chase Bank at 450 Third Avenue between East 31st and 32nd Streets yesterday around 1:10 p.m. and passed a demand note to a bank teller. Police said that the teller complied and gave the suspect an unspecified amount of money. He then fled in an unknown direction.

Last Thursday, the man reportedly entered a Santander Bank located at 1062 Third Avenue just after 11 a.m., approached a teller and passed a demand note. The suspect reportedly fled the bank after getting the cash, fleeing west on East 63rd Street towards Lexington Avenue. No one was injured in either incident.

The suspect is described as white, approximately 40 years old, with a medium build with light eyes, 6’0″ tall and 200 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket, black jeans and a black baseball cap.
