MAN ARRESTED FOR JUMPING INTO TRACKS WHILE RUNNING FROM COPS
Police arrested 32-year-old Jose Vijay for reckless endangerment and criminal trespass inside the First Avenue L station last Tuesday at 6:46 p.m. Police were responding to a call about Vijay about a previous sex abuse case while he was at the Third Avenue station on the L train. Police said that he matched the description of a man who was wanted for sex abuse and escorted him off the train. Officers then identified him as a suspect for the earlier incident, but while he was being held at the station, Vijay allegedly jumped onto the tracks and fled down the tunnel. Police said that he was seen passing between the tracks as a train was pulling into the station. No further information was available about the sex abuse case for which he was originally pursued.
MAN NABBED FOR STABBING ON SIXTH AVENUE
Police arrested 28-year-old Cedric Toon for assault and weapons possession last Sunday at 3:30 a.m. in front of 686 Sixth Avenue. Police said that Toon stabbed the victim in the back near his right shoulder with a knife, causing a puncture wound. Police searched the area and found Toon nearby, and two witnesses positively identified him.
MAN NABBED FOR ASSAULTING COP ON BROADWAY
Police arrested 25-year-old Mohamed Thiam for assault of a peace officer last Friday at 4:34 p.m. in front of 1165 Broadway at 27th Street. Police said that they approached Thiam because he was drinking beer out of a cup on the sidewalk and he allegedly refused to show the officer his ID. When they attempted to place him in handcuffs, he allegedly started flailing his arms to prevent being handcuffed. Police said that in the struggle, he punched the arresting office in the face.
WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON EAST 23RD
Police arrested 41-year-old Michelle Brennan for assault in front of 100 East 23rd Street last Tuesday at 12:06 p.m. Police said that Brennan punched the victim in the face, causing pain. Police did not have any more information about what prompted the attack.
MAN ARRESTED FOR KNIFE AT THIRD AND EAST 28TH
Forty-year-old Robert Valdivieso was arrested for weapons possession at the corner of Third Avenue and East 28th Street last Wednesday at 5:34 p.m. Police said that Valdivieso was riding a bicycle while casing different stores along the street. He entered and exited multiple delivery-type locations and was allegedly attempting to sell the bike. He was stopped because he was allegedly riding the bike against traffic and when police recovered a knife from his pocket, he allegedly said, “I have a gravity knife because I have a lot of enemies on the street.”
Valdivieso was also charged with possession of a controlled substance because he was in possession of a crack pipe with alleged narcotic residue.
MAN WITH K2 NABBED FOR MENACING
Police arrested 34-year-old William Crosby for weapons possession and menacing in front of 47 West 14th Street last Thursday at 5:45 p.m. Police said that Crosby threatened to strike a large group of people with a large metal object. Crosby was arrested without incident and when he was searched, he was in possession of alleged K2.
MAN ARRESTED FOR SELLING K2
Police arrested 34-year-old Tywaine Suber for the unlawful sale of synthetic marijuana and possession of marijuana at the corner of Broadway and West 28th Street last Thursday at 10:58 a.m. Police said that Suber was attempting to sell the K2 on a public sidewalk and was in possession of a small bag of alleged marijuana.
TWO ARRESTED FOR K2 ON WEST 14TH
Police arrested two people for smoking K2 in front of 67 West 14th Street last Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Police said that 55-year-old Cheryl Sills and 24-year-old Janet Corrales Molina were smoking K2 on the sidewalk, and both were charged with violating a public health code.
MAN ARRESTED FOR POT, METHADONE ON SECOND AVE.
Police arrested 46-year-old Ivo Bogdamovic for possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance last Wednesday at 11:29 a.m. in front of 493 Second Avenue. Police said that Bogdamovic was smoking alleged marijuana on the sidewalk, and when he was searched, he was allegedly in possession of liquid methadone in an unmarked plastic bottle.
MEN ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING ON STRAUS HOUSES ROOF
Police arrested 37-year-old Jason Rice for possession of a controlled substance and criminal trespass inside 224 East 28th Street last Wednesday at 6:49 a.m. Police said that Rice entered a restricted area on the roof where signs were posted that entering the area was not permitted.
Martin Negron, 44, was also arrested for trespassing on the roof at 224 East 28th Street last week. Police said that Negron went onto the building’s roof last Wednesday at 5:34 p.m. where signs were posted indicating that the area was restricted. Negron was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and police said that he had a crack pipe and used needles with drug residue in his backpack.
DRUNK DRIVING ARREST ON EAST 23RD
Police arrested 33-year-old Jennifer Vidal for intoxicated driving at the corner of Third Avenue and East 23rd Street last Sunday at 5:39 a.m. Police said that Vidal was stopped in the eastbound lane on East 23rd Street, blocking the intersection. Police said that Vidal was behind the wheel of the car with the motor running, and she had bloodshot, watery eyes as well as alcohol on her breath.
SERIAL OLD NAVY SHOPLIFTER BUSTED
Fifty-year-old David Simmons was arrested last Friday at 2 p.m. for multiple thefts from Old Navy last year. Police said that Simmons entered the Old Navy at 610 Sixth Avenue on November 1 and October 17 and took merchandise from the store without paying.
MAN NABBED FOR CHARGING CELL PHONE INSIDE BANK
Police arrested a 22-year-old man for trespassing inside the Bank of America ATM at 530 Sixth Avenue last Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Police said that the man was sitting in the bank while not conducting banking business, and there are signs that say no loitering, panhandling or sleeping. Police said that Reyes was charging a cell phone while inside the bank.
UNLICENSED BURRITO-PEDDLER ARRESTED
Police arrested a 26-year-old woman for violating an unclassified state law at the corner of Union Square West and West 15th Street last Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Police said that the woman was offering burritos for sale out of a cart on the sidewalk without a Department of Health license and she could not produce one when asked.
