OFFICERS ASSAULTED AT ASSER LEVY CENTER
Police arrested a 45-year-old man after he allegedly assaulted two Parks Department officers inside the Asser Levy Recreation Center on East 23rd Street last Monday at 7:35 a.m. Police said that the Parks officers were attempting to get Robert Robinson to leave the rec center when he reportedly hit one of them in the head with a 2×4, causing bruising. Robinson was charged for the assault at the 13th precinct last Tuesday at 1:10 p.m. but he was originally stopped for allegedly smoking K2 at the corner of Park Avenue South and East 29th Street on Tuesday at 11:12 a.m.
MAN ARRESTED FOR ‘DRUGS’, FAKE CREDIT CARDS AND SKIMMING DEVICE
Police arrested 33-year-old Justin Aiello for alleged possession of a controlled substance inside Bellevue Hospital at 462 First Avenue last Saturday afternoon. Police responded to a call from the London NYC hotel at 151 West 54th Street for a wellness check, possibly an emotionally disturbed person. When they arrived, police were unable to get into the room. Emergency Services responded and was able to get in, secure the suspect and take him to Bellevue Hospital.
While hotel staff were gathering Aiello’s belongings, they allegedly found a fraudulent ID, credit cards, drug paraphernalia, skimming devices, alleged methamphetamines, blank credit cards and cash. Hotel staff notified police about the items and Aiello was arrested at the hospital.
TEEN GIRL ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT IN KIPS BAY
Police arrested a 17-year-old girl for assault and criminal mischief at the corner of East 26th Street and First Avenue last Thursday at 10:22 p.m. The victim told police that while she was walking south on First Avenue towards the bus stop, the suspect punched her several times in the face, causing pain and bruising. Police said that the teen also grabbed the victim’s cell phone from her hand and threw it to the ground with the intention of breaking it.
MEN CHARGED WITH BUYING ‘STOLEN’ BIKES
Police arrested 48-year-old Xue Lin and 49-year-old Ruopeng Wang for alleged possession of stolen property last Tuesday after they allegedly bought stolen bikes. Police arrested Lin in front of 160 East 28th Street around 3:45 p.m. after he allegedly purchased a bicycle that was presented to him by a plainclothes officer as stolen property. Police said that Wang knowingly purchased a stolen bike from a plainclothes at the corner of Third Avenue and East 27th Street around 4:15 p.m.
MAN ARRESTED FOR SELLING ‘HEROIN’
Police arrested 39-year-old Scott Erwin for alleged sale of a controlled substance in front of 225 East 23rd Street last Wednesday at 7:25 a.m. Police said that Erwin sold a quantity of heroin to an undercover officer. The alleged heroin was stamped with the words “pac man.”
MARIJUANA ‘DEALERS’ ARRESTED IN UNION SQUARE AND FLATIRON
Police arrested three men for allegedly selling marijuana at Union Square East and East 14th Street last Tuesday at 5:09 p.m. Police said that 22-year-old Andres Rodriguez, 25-year-old Roberto Sessoms and 33-year-old Daniel James sold a quantity of marijuana to undercover officers. The three men were charged with sale of marijuana and Rodriguez was also charged with possession of marijuana. Police said that he had additional alleged marijuana in his backpack.
Police also arrested 43-year-old Soumana Boubacar for alleged sale of marijuana at the corner of Broadway and West 27th Street last Friday at 3:53 p.m. Police said that Boubacar sold three bags of alleged marijuana to a buyer on a public sidewalk and when he was searched, police found two additional bags of alleged marijuana in his right pocket.
MEN CHARGED WITH STEALING GENERATOR FROM FOOD CART
Police arrested 31-year-old Essam Elhanafi and 61-year-old Elseman Ahmed for alleged grand larceny and possession of stolen property in front of 148 West 23rd Street last Thursday at 5:16 a.m. Police said that Elhanafi and Ahmed removed a portable generator from the victim’s food cart at West 34th Street and Eighth Avenue and fled in a vehicle before getting stopped on West 23rd Street.
CLUB MONACO MANAGER ARRESTED FOR STEALING FROM STORE REGISTER
Police arrested 33-year-old Jason Lucas for alleged grand larceny and petit larceny last Monday. Police said that while Lucas was working as assistant manager in the Club Monaco at 160 Fifth Avenue, he took cash from the register on November 8, two different times on November 13 and on November 16.
