Venerable cereal company Kellogg’s opened a cereal-centric café on the north side of Union Square in mid-December. The cafe was previously open as a pop-up in Times Square but that location closed in August in preparation for the debut of the bigger space downtown.

A news release prior to the opening noted that the café would have a DIY cereal station as well as milkshakes, Pop Tarts and ice cream sundaes. The café will be collaborating with various chefs and will be sourcing ingredients from the Union Square greenmarket for specialty treats. The menu also features creations from television personality Lauren Conrad, such as “apple pie,” which features Apple Jacks, cinnamon toasted apples, salted caramel, sea salt and brown sugar cinnamon Pop-Tart crumble. Other pre-made bowls on the menu include Corn Pops with lemon-blueberry jam and sea salt as well as Froot Loops with passion fruit-lime jam and mini marshmallows.

The space was formerly occupied by a Capital One and is on the second floor of the building above an AT&T store. The café is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The café only accepts credit cards. The spot is located at 31 East 17th Street between Park Avenue South and Broadway.
