MEN BUSTED FOR DRUG DEALS AT STRAUS HOUSES
Twenty-year-old Carlos Garcia was arrested for intent to sell a controlled substance inside 344 East 28th Street last Wednesday at 6:05 a.m. Police said that officers had a warrant to search Garcia’s apartment and when they arrived, they allegedly found marijuana and crack cocaine. Garcia allegedly attempted to throw the narcotics out the window of his 21st floor apartment when police arrived.
Police also arrested 38-year-olds Carl Atkinson and Peter Guigress for an alleged drug deal in front of 224 East 28th Street last Thursday 11:58 p.m. Police said that Atkinson was in front of the building attempting to exchange two small ziplock bags of alleged crack cocaine for cash. When police approached them, Atkinson allegedly threw both bags to the ground and police said that Guigress shoved the cash into his pocket. Police recovered both the bags with alleged drugs and the cash. Guigress was allegedly in possession of a crack pipe that was in his left coat pocket. Atkinson was charged with intent to sell a controlled substance and Guigress was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
PAIR CHARGED WITH DRUG POSSESSION, STOLEN CREDIT CARDS AT EDITION HOTEL
Police arrested a man and a woman for a variety of alleged controlled substances after the pair reportedly refused to pay for hotel room services inside the Edition Hotel at 5 Madison Avenue inside the Met Life building last Thursday at 10:21 p.m.
When 36-year-old Sarah Reitz and 38-year-old Andrej Marecek refused to pay for the services, police said, officers searched their room and found alleged heroin and crystal meth. Macerek and Reitz were also allegedly in possession of numerous credit account numbers with expiration dates and security codes as well as credit cards belonging to other individuals.
PAIR ARRESTED FOR FIGHT ON FIFTH AVENUE
Police arrested 27-year-old Sajan Chhaya and 25-year-old Ankit Patel for allegedly fighting in front of 224 Fifth Avenue last Saturday at 4:24 a.m. Police said that Chhaya and Patel got into a fight, causing bruising and cuts on each of them. Both were charged with assault. Patel was also charged with criminal mischief because he allegedly grabbed the phone of someone who was recording the fight and threw it to the ground, causing it to break.
MAN BUSTED FOR ASSAULT IN UNION SQUARE
Police arrested 29-year-old Byll Daku in front of the Best Buy Mobile at 2 Union Square East last Monday for an assault that reportedly took place on December 15. Police said that a homeless man was sleeping in front of the store when he and Daku got into an argument, during which Daku allegedly hit the man with an unknown object. Police said that Daku is also homeless.
MAN ARRESTED FOR STRANGULATION
Police arrested a 41-year-old man for strangulation last Tuesday at 12:50 p.m. inside the 13th precinct. Police said that on July 9 at 3:30 a.m. at the corner of 21st Street and Broadway, the suspect choked the victim until she became unconscious. The suspect’s name is being withheld to protect the victim’s privacy because the incident was related to domestic violence.
MAN ARRESTED FOR CHOKING AUNT
Police arrested a 28-year-old man for obstruction of breath and assault last Thursday at 5:45 p.m. Police said that the suspect got into a fight with the victim’s husband inside 344 East 28th Street on November 27. When the victim attempted to break up the fight, the suspect put his hands around her neck, obstructing her breathing. The man’s name is being withheld to protect the victim’s privacy because the incident was related to domestic violence.
MAN BUSTED FOR SWIPING JACKETS AT LOFT
Police arrested 52-year-old Richard Johnson for alleged grand larceny inside Loft at 156 Fifth Avenue last Wednesday at 2:12 p.m. Police said that Johnson removed three white jackets from a display table in the store and concealed them in his coat before leaving without paying.
MAN ARRESTED FOR ‘STOLEN’ CREDIT CARD
Police arrested 37-year-old Nyang Aung for alleged grand larceny inside 230 Fifth Avenue last Thursday at 9:11 p.m. Police said that Aung was in possession of a credit card that didn’t belong to him and he allegedly used the card to make a purchase at the store. Police said that he was in possession of the card without permission and allegedly told police, “I found the card and bought this.” There are multiple home goods and furniture stores at the location but police did not have information about where specifically Aung was arrested.
MAN BUSTED FOR TRESPASSING AT UNION SQUARE MCDONALD’S
Police arrested 36-year-old Nicholas Williams for alleged criminal trespass inside the McDonald’s at 39 Union Square West last Friday at 9:25 a.m. Police said that Williams remained inside the restaurant for an extended period and was asked to leave multiple times. Williams allegedly violated signs that were clearly posted stating, “please no loitering: time limit 30 minutes while consuming food.”
MAN NABBED FOR ‘POT’ IN UNION SQUARE
Police arrested 30-year-old Joshua Cheverez-Gonzalez for alleged possession of marijuana at the corner of Union Square West and East 16th Street last Wednesday at 6:14 p.m. Police said that Cheverez-Gonzalez was smoking an alleged marijuana cigarette inside Union Square Park and marijuana was recovered from his right hand.
MAN ARRESTED FOR FORGED MONEY ORDER
Police arrested 23-year-old Daury Sosa-Rodriguez for alleged grand larceny and forgery last Monday at 9:15 a.m. inside the 13th Precinct. Police said that Sosa-Rodriguez deposited an altered money order with the victim’s name on it without permission along with another person who wasn’t arrested.
MAN BUSTED FOR ENSURE THEFT
Police arrested 59-year-old Wayne Davies for alleged petit larceny inside 215 Park Avenue South last Saturday at 12:23 a.m. Police said that Davies entered the CVS Pharmacy, took five packs of Ensure off the shelf and allegedly attempted to leave without paying.
MAN CHARGED WITH TJ MAXX CLOTHING AND LUGGAGE THEFT
Police arrested 34-year-old Mark Orr for alleged petit larceny inside TJ Maxx at 620 Sixth Avenue last Friday at 10:56 a.m. Police said that Orr removed two coats and a piece of luggage from the store, putting the coats in the allegedly stolen luggage before attempting to leave without paying for the items.
