MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT OF WOMAN ON KIPS BAY STREET
Police arrested 31-year-old Lindell Caulet for an alleged assault in front of 121 East 24th Street last Sunday at 6:43 p.m. The victim told police that Caulet punched her on the side of the head, knocking her head into a pole on the sidewalk. The victim said that she suffered from pain and swelling on the side of her head as a result of the incident. Police did not have further information about what started the incident.
SUSPECT BUSTED FOR THEFT FROM KIPS BAY APARTMENT
Police arrested 34-year-old Terrence O’Connell for alleged petit larceny and possession of stolen property in the victim’s apartment on Third Avenue near East 28th Street last Sunday at 5:01 p.m. The victim told police that she knew O’Connell and he had slept at her apartment but when she woke up the next morning, she realized that he had taken her iPad, cash, some of her clothing and jewelry.
DRIVER ARRESTED OUTSIDE STUY TOWN AFTER ACCIDENT
Police arrested a 31-year-old man for alleged intoxicated driving in front of 279 Avenue C last Thursday at 2:41 a.m. Police said that Duane Cullen rear-ended another vehicle while driving on Avenue C. When he was stopped, police said he had unsteady balance, bloodshot, watery eyes, a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and a confused demeanor.
MAN CHARGED WITH CAR THEFT ON 30TH ST.
Police arrested 47-year-old William Ortiz last Wednesday at 7 a.m. for allegedly stealing a car that was parked in front of Bagel Café near the corner of East 30th Street and Third Avenue last December. The victim told police that he parked his car in front of the café around 8 a.m. on December 20 and went inside to get food, leaving the keys in the ignition, at which point Ortiz allegedly got in and drove away. Ortiz was charged with grand larceny of an auto.
OFFICE BURGLARY SUSPECT CAUGHT
Police arrested 38-year-old Jamel Gibson last Friday for allegedly burglarizing an office last year. Police said that Gibson went inside at 21 West 20th Street on October 18, 2017 around 1 p.m. and took a laptop from one of the offices in the building.
MAN NABBED FOR PACKAGE THEFT
Police arrested 51-year-old Nelson Rivera last Tuesday after he allegedly stole packaged from the corner of East 14th Street and Third Avenue. Police said that Rivera was carrying packages under his jacket then crouched behind a parked car and allegedly ripped open the packages, which police said that he didn’t have permission to have.
Police arrested Rivera and charged him with petit larceny and possession of stolen property in front of 238 East 15th Street.
ARREST FOR PHONE THEFT IN BARUCH OFFICE
Police arrested 27-year-old Bruno Toledo last Wednesday for allegedly stealing an iPhone from a counter at the Bursar’s office at Baruch College last week. He was charged with petit larceny and possession of stolen property.
BRC RESIDENT CHARGED WITH BREAKING HEADPHONES IN FRONT OF SHELTER
Police arrested 27-year-old Daquan Garrett for alleged criminal mischief in front of the Bowery Residents Committee Shelter at 127 West 25th Street last Friday at 6:25 a.m. Police said that Garrett and the victim got into an argument in front of the shelter when Garrett allegedly grabbed the victim’s headphones from him and threw them to the ground, causing them to break. Police said that Garrett and the victim are both residents at the shelter.
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR 2017 THEFT AT UNION SQUARE RESTAURANT
Police arrested 24-year-old Javon Reaves for alleged grand larceny and fraud last Friday for an incident last year.
Police said that the victim, an employee for Al Vicoletto Cafe and Wine Bar, left her bag inside a closet in the restaurant at 9 East 17th Street on May 16, 2017. When she went to retrieve her bag at 4 p.m., she saw that it was missing and she recovered the purse in the garbage can in the men’s restroom with her wallet missing.
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR 2016 SUBWAY ASSAULT
Police arrested 27-year-old Miguel Perez for an alleged assault inside the Union Square subway station last Friday at 11:45 p.m. Police said that Perez had assaulted someone inside the 116th Street/Lexington Avenue station on November 18, 2016.
TEEN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT IN KIPS BAY
Police arrested a teenager for assault and possession of marijuana last Tuesday at 11:38 a.m. at the corner of East 28th Street and Second Avenue. Police said that the teen punched the victim in the face, causing redness, swelling and pain on the left side of his face. When the teen was searched, he was also found to be in possession of marijuana.
MAN BUSTED FOR SWIPING EATALY TIP JAR
Police arrested 21-year-old Neal Kason for allegedly stealing a tip jar with money inside Eataly at 200 Fifth Avenue on January 25 around 5 p.m. Police arrested Kason, who worked at the restaurant, last Monday.
MAN BUSTED FOR THEFT FROM CAR
Police arrested 18-year-old Idris Carter for petit larceny and theft at the corner of Sixth Avenue and West 28th Street last Saturday at 11:34 a.m. Police said that Carter and another person who wasn’t arrested removed property from a car parked at the location without permission. The victim positively identified Carter at the scene.
