By Sabina Mollot
Police are looking for five people, possibly all teenagers, who assaulted a 19-year-old man for his headphones and cell phone on a street in NoMad.
The incident occurred on Monday, December 11, but police only released the information this week after an initial lead on a suspect didn’t pan out.

Robbery suspect one
According to cops, at around 10 p.m., in front of the Latham Hotel, a homeless shelter at 4 East 28th Street, the group, four males and one female, confronted the victim as he walked by. One or possibly more of them began punching him in the face and on his head while forcefully grabbing his phone and headphones. The muggers then ran off and the victim wasn’t seriously injured.

Police got some fuzzy photos of the suspects who are all described as being black and in their late teens or early twenties.
