MAN ARRESTED FOR STALKING, HARASSMENT
Police arrested a 37-year-old man after the victim, his ex-girlfriend, told police that he called, texted and emailed her from December 12, 2017 through January 22 and allegedly said that he would ruin her life if she did not help him with his financial troubles.
She said that she asked the suspect to stop contacting her but he allegedly continued, and she said that she knew the calls and texts were from him because she recognized his phone number and email and recognized his voice in messages.
The victim also told police that around December 12, the suspect allegedly sent an email in which he had attached private photos that showed her fully undressed on a bed and she said that when she didn’t respond to the email, he forwarded the content to her employer. She told police that she had not consented to having the photos posted online or emailed and she said that the man allegedly sent the photos because she didn’t respond and because she wouldn’t help him with his financial troubles.
The suspect was arrested for alleged aggravated harassment inside the 13th Precinct on Tuesday, February 13 and was also charged with stalking, attempted assault and attempted coercion. His lawyer could not be reached for a comment.
MAN ARRESTED FOR UNION SQUARE LEWDNESS STABBED BY VICTIM IN BROOKLYN
A man who was previously arrested for public lewdness near Union Square in 2015 was stabbed on a train in Brooklyn when he allegedly masturbated in front of another victim who fought back. The New York Post reported last Friday that 47-year-old Reggie Frank was masturbating in front of a 42-year-old sleeping woman on a southbound R train near the 36th Street stop in Sunset Park around 2 a.m. When the woman woke up and saw what Frank was doing, he allegedly pepper-sprayed her in the face and slashed her left hand with a folding knife. The Post said that the woman then wrestled the knife from him and appears to have turned it on her attacker. Frank was brought to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn for puncture wounds and was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and public lewdness. Frank has 26 prior arrests, including 11 arrests for public lewdness, and police were actually looking for him in connection with another public lewdness case at the time of the incident on Friday.
MAN NABBED FOR 6 TRAIN ASSAULT
Police arrested 20-year-old Ariel Londono for an alleged assault at Park Avenue South and East 28th Street last Tuesday at 8:36 a.m. The victim told police that while he was getting off a downtown 6 train at the 28th Street stop to walk to his college, Londono allegedly punched him in the face for no apparent reason. Police said that other people who were on the train were holding Londono down until officers arrived to arrest him.
MAN BUSTED FOR STOLEN DEBIT CARD
Police arrested 39-year-old Wayne Smith for an alleged grand larceny and possession of stolen property inside the Chase Bank ATM at 230 Park Avenue South last Tuesday at 1:34 p.m. Police said that Smith was attempting to withdraw cash from the ATM with a debit card that didn’t belong to him.
MAN NABBED FOR LEAVING SCENE OF ACCIDENT
Police arrested 23-year-old Omar Aman for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident causing personal injury at the corner of Third Avenue and East 23rd Street last Thursday at 1:42 p.m. Police were responding to the location because of a motor vehicle accident and upon further investigation, found that Aman had left the scene.
MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON WEST 28TH
Police arrested 32-year-old Quan Chen for an alleged assault at 106 West 28th Street last Saturday at 1:41 p.m. The victim told police that he was on the elevator at the location when another group attempted to get on the elevator and an argument occurred. The victim said that Chen struck him in the face multiple times with his hard hat, causing injuries to his face and the back of his head. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
