Police Watch: Man arrested after fatal car wreck, Teens assault officer at ACS

MAN ARRESTED AT BELLEVUE AFTER FATAL CAR WRECK
Police arrested 37-year-old Sherman Harrison for alleged manslaughter inside Bellevue Hospital at 462 First Avenue on Saturday after police said that he attempted to flee the scene of a fatal car accident earlier that day.

Police brought Harrison to the hospital after an accident that took place on Saturday, December 29 at 7:23 a.m. at the corner of West and Laight Street in Tribeca. An investigation found that he allegedly attempted to walk away from a car crash in which another driver was killed. Police said that Harrison was driving when he lost control and slammed into another car, causing a crash that left the other driver dead. Responding officers also allegedly recovered a .40 caliber magazine in plain sight inside the car. Harrison was charged with manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

TEENS ASSAULT OFFICER IN BRAWL AT ACS
Police arrested three teenagers for assault of a peace officer inside the ACS facility at 492 First Avenue on Saturday, December 29 at 2 a.m. Police said that the teens were kicking and banging on the building’s door, so an ACS sergeant tried to escort the teens out of the building when they reportedly became physically aggressive. The sergeant reportedly tried to restrain the teens when a brawl broke out and he was punched and kicked in the head by all three of the teenagers. The sergeant received a bruise on his head as a result of the assault.

MAN BUSTED FOR ASSAULT AT BELLEVUE
Police arrested 21-year-old Rodrigo Torres for an alleged assault inside Bellevue Hospital at 462 First Avenue on Friday, December 28 at 5 p.m. The victim told police that Torres struck her with a broomstick, causing pain and swelling. When he was searched, police found that Torres was in possession of a knife and alleged marijuana. Torres was charged with assault, weapons possession and possession of marijuana.

MAN NABBED FOR DINE-AND-DITCH AT CANAAN SUSHI
Police arrested 21-year-old Samual Edet for an alleged dine-and-ditch inside Canaan Sushi at 154 West 29th Street on Wednesday, December 26 at 6:29 p.m. Police said that Edet went into the restaurant and got full waiter service and allegedly refused to pay for the food that he ordered after finishing.

MAN BUSTED FOR MENACING IN UNION SQUARE
Police arrested 31-year-old Reidy Tavares for menacing at the corner of Union Square West and East 14th Street on Tuesday, December 25 at 11:54 p.m. The victim told police that Tavares menaced her with an unknown metal object, stating, “You don’t know what I’m going to do to you.” When Tavares was searched, police found that he was in possession of alleged marijuana from his pants pocket and a bong from his backpack.

MEN ARRESTED FOR DUANE READE THEFTS
Two men were arrested in separate incidents for alleged shoplifting from the same Duane Reade location at 300 East 23rd Street last week. Police arrested 53-year-old Michael Weaver for an alleged theft from the store on Thursday, December 27 at 3:16 p.m. Police said that Weaver took items out of the store’s fridge and attempted to leave without paying for the items.

Police arrested 24-year-old Adam Fulkerson for an alleged theft from the same store on Friday, December 28 at 5:19 p.m. Police said that Fulkerson walked into the store, looked around and grabbed items from the display rack before concealing them inside his jacket and allegedly attempting to leave without paying for the items.

Both men were charged with possession of stolen property and petit larceny.

  1. regarding ACS, they might as well build a jail inside the premises, their are more bad characters there than a DeBlasio donors meeting
