Man found dead outside Stuy Town building

A 60-year-old man was found dead outside 647 East 14th Street in Stuyvesant Town around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, and is believed to have jumped out of an apartment on the sixth floor of the building.

Police said that while it appears to be a suicide, an investigation is ongoing. Emergency services personnel found the victim face down and unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notification.

  1. Suicide rate seems to be abnormally high in PCVST of late. I’m guessing no mention of that in the glossy pamphlets they hand out in the leasing office…

  2. Not surprised given the QOL here? Well Penny, if you’re unhappy here, go and get the F out of here! You’re one of the miserable people that not only ruin stuytown, you ruin the city with your crap attitude. Trust me when I say NOBODY will miss you so go move to the country

    Most longterm residents here are bitter because their life sucks in general. All they do it bitch bitch bitch. Just read the Facebook resident page. What a bunch of whiners. I just hope Stuytown starts licking windows down because I hate having to look up before waling in/ou of my own building.
