TEENS BUSTED FOR CONSTRUCTION SITE BURGLARY
Police busted two teenagers for allegedly breaking into a construction site at 322 East 18th Street on Tuesday, June 11 at 8:17 a.m. The victim told police that he arrived at the job site and noticed that the secure door on the ground floor was broken and when he got to the main floor, he heard a commotion in the basement. He saw that his alarm system was unplugged and the key pad was broken and he said that he then saw the two teenagers leaving the site through the broken door. He took photos of the teens, which he showed to officers who arrived at the scene, and after searching the area, police caught the two suspects. The victim also said that while he was taking a photo of the two teens who were arrested, a third teen ran past them and fled to East 18th Street towards First Avenue. The teens were also charged with criminal mischief.
MOTORCYCLIST ACCUSED OF RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT
Police arrested 29-year-old Ricardo Bonano for alleged reckless endangerment at the corner of First Avenue and East 14th Street on Tuesday, June 11 at 3:11 p.m. Police said that Bonano was seen driving a motorcycle without license plates and he allegedly ran a red light while popping a wheelie in traffic. Bonano was also charged with being an unlicensed operator and an unclassified traffic infraction.
TEEN NABBED FOR STEALING FROM TAXIS
Police arrested a teenager for allegedly stealing from cab drivers throughout the neighborhood earlier this month.
The teenager reportedly reached into a taxi that was in front of 401 Park Avenue South on Sunday, June 9 around 11:15 a.m. and stole the driver’s cell phone.
The teen, along with another boy who wasn’t arrested, stole a cell phone from a taxi that was in front of 400 Park Avenue South on Wednesday, June 12 around 9 a.m. Police said that the teen who was arrested also grabbed money from a cab driver that was in front of 133 Lexington Avenue around 10 a.m. that day. About half an hour later, the two boys stole a cell phone from inside a taxi that was in front of 333 First Avenue.
The teen was arrested inside the 13th Precinct on Thursday, June 13 at 4:30 p.m. for three alleged grand larcenies and two alleged petit larcenies.
MAN CHARGED WITH ROBBERY ON EAST 27TH
Police arrested 28-year-old Hiram Rivera for an alleged robbery in front of 43 West 27th Street on Wednesday, June 12 at 9:16 p.m. Police said that Rivera took the victim’s property and when the victim confronted him, Rivera allegedly pulled out a gun. When he was arrested shortly after the incident, police found that the firearm was an alleged air soft pistol. Rivera was also charged with burglar’s tools and possession of a controlled substance.
MAN ACCUSED OF GROPING WOMAN ON 4/5/6 TRAIN
Police arrested 56-year-old Milton Bingham for alleged sexual abuse inside the Union Square station on Monday, June 10 at 1:25 a.m. The victim told police that Bingham grabbed her buttocks while she was on a downtown train that was inside the East 68th Street/Lexington Avenue station and Bingham was caught when the train arrived in Union Square.
MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT AT EAST 14TH AND FIRST AVENUE
Police arrested 20-year-old Louis Rios for alleged possession of marijuana and an alleged assault at the corner of First Avenue and East 14th Street on Saturday, June 15 at 1:10 p.m. Police said that Rios was stopped in regards to a wanted flyer for a previous assault that took place at the same location on May 29 around 3 p.m.
The victim told police that he and Rios, who didn’t know each other, got into an argument and Rios allegedly hit him in the face. The victim said that he didn’t think Rios assaulted him with any kind of object but upon further investigation, police found that the assault had involved a knife. When Rios was searched, he was in possession of alleged marijuana.
TEEN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT
Police arrested a teenager for an assault that took place inside the Administration for Children’s Services facility on Monday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. Police said that the teen got into a fight with another resident of the ACS facility. She was arrested on Monday, June 10 at 9:45 a.m. inside the 13th precinct. The teen’s name is being withheld due to her young age.
MEN ARRESTED AFTER FIGHT ON WEST 14TH
Police arrested 27-year-old Alvin Javier and 21-year-old Willis Nunez after a fight in front of 17 West 14th Street on Wednesday, June 12 at 8:54 p.m. Police said that Javier and Nunez got into an argument that escalated to a fight and Javier allegedly punched Nunez multiple times, causing injuries to his chin, ear and forehead. Police said that Nunez also punched Javier in the face, causing an injury to his mouth. When Nunez was searched, he was also in possession of alleged crack.
MAN BUSTED FOR KNIFE INSIDE BELLEVUE SOUTH PARK
Police arrested 49-year-old Mark Brock in front of 490 Second Avenue on Tuesday, June 11 at 5 p.m. Police said that Brock was in possession of a kitchen knife that he allegedly intended to use during an altercation inside Bellevue South Park. Police did not have further information about what started the argument but said that Brock and the victim did not know each other.
TWO ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT
Police arrested 24-year-old Elijah Robinson and 32-year-old Quashaun Hagler for an alleged assault behind the Mondrian Terrace rooftop lounge at 444 Park Avenue South between East 30th and 31st Street on Thursday, June 13 around midnight. The victim told police that he was attacked by a group of men behind the club, which resulted in cuts above his eye and on his lips and mouth. The victim, who police said is in his 20s, was transported to Bellevue for treatment. The two men were arrested outside 420 Park Avenue South later on the same day as the incident at 8:30 p.m.
MAN ARRESTED FOR STEALING BIKE SEAT
Police arrested 67-year-old Andre Rozkowiak in front of 147 East 23rd Street on Friday, June 14 at 12:23 p.m. for an alleged theft. Police said that Rozkowiak removed a bike seat from a locked bike that didn’t belong to him that was locked in front of the location. When he was searched, police found that he was in possession of burglar’s tools and the allegedly stolen bike seat.
Rozkowiak was charged with burglar’s tools, petit larceny and possession of stolen property.
