PAIR BUSTED FOR SHOPLIFTING-GONE-BAD
Police arrested 29-year-old Kevin Jerome and 34-year-old Dominique Lewis for an alleged robbery at the corner of Second Avenue and East 23rd Street on Thursday, July 18 at 3:34 p.m. Police said that Jerome and Lewis entered a store nearby and removed merchandise without paying for it, and when a store employee confronted them, Jerome allegedly swung his arm at the employee, pulled out a boxcutter and reportedly threatened the employee so that he could leave the store. Police said that Lewis also swung her bag at the employee. The employee wasn’t injured and officers found the two suspects at the corner.
Jerome was additionally charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance after police recovered an alleged crack pipe in his pocket. The boxcutter was also recovered from his pants pocket.
MAN NABBED FOR BREAKING MSBI COMPUTER
Police arrested 30-year-old Cesar Feliz-Taveras for alleged criminal mischief inside 281 First Avenue on Saturday, July 20 at 1:36 p.m. Police said that Feliz-Taveras grabbed a computer at the location and allegedly smashed it on the floor. A witness told police that the suspect was mad at the service that he was receiving at the hospital.
WOMAN BUSTED FOR HANE ‘DINE-AND-DITCH’
Police arrested 25-year-old Kelly Raquel for alleged theft of services inside Hane Sushi at 346 First Avenue on Saturday, July 20 at 4:03 p.m. Police said that Raquel ordered food and drinks at the restaurant and allegedly had attempted to leave without paying.
SENIOR ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING WIFE
Police arrested a 79-year-old man for an alleged assault inside 143 East 19th Street on Thursday, July 18 at 7:12 p.m. The victim told police that she and her husband were having an argument about who she was talking to on the phone. Police said that the suspect threw the victim off the chair that she was sitting in, causing her to bruise her right hand. The suspect also allegedly took a hand vacuum and held it over the victim’s head, demanding to know who she was talking to. The man was also charged with menacing.
The name of the suspect is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
MAN ARRESTED FOR ‘MISCHIEF’ AT HOTEL 17
Police arrested 36-year-old Robert Rodriguez for alleged criminal mischief inside Hotel 17 at 225 East 17th Street on Wednesday, July 17 at 11:20 p.m. Police arrived at Hotel 17 around 11 p.m. because an employee had filed a report earlier that day about someone being disruptive inside the hotel. While officers were speaking to the employee, Rodriguez allegedly returned to the scene and the employee identified him as the person responsible for previous damage.
MULTIPLE ARRESTS FOR SHOPLIFTING
Police arrested four people for alleged shoplifting inside the Food Emporium at 10 Union Square East last week. A 47-year-old man was charged with petit larceny and possession of stolen property after he took items from the store and allegedly left without paying on Monday, July 15 at 3:17 p.m.
Police also arrested a 49-year-old man for allegedly attempting to remove merchandise from the store on Tuesday, July 16 at 4:45 p.m. Preer was charged with petit larceny and theft.
A 45-year-old woman was arrested inside the store on Wednesday, July 17 at 2:56 p.m. after she allegedly concealed soap, cookies, craisins, pepperoni, Vitamin Water and chicken wings in her bag and attempted to leave without paying. She was charged with petit larceny and possession of stolen property.
Police arrested a 42-year-old man for alleged shoplifting from the store on Thursday, July 18 at 5:40 p.m. A store employee told police that the man had placed items from the store into his backpack and had attempted to leave without paying. He was charged with petit larceny and possession of stolen property.
TEEN BUSTED FOR SHOPLIFTING ARRESTED FOR ROBBERIES
Police arrested a teenager for a theft inside a Gramercy Duane Reade and later connected him to multiple robberies throughout Manhattan. The teen was caught at the corner of Mount Carmel Place and East 27th Street on Tuesday, July 16 at 8:52 p.m. Police said that he went inside the Duane Reade at 161 Third Avenue on June 27 and removed merchandise without paying. The teen was arrested in regards to a robbery pattern related to robberies in Midtown South, the First Precinct and the 13th Precinct.
MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON WEST 28TH
Police arrested 47-year-old Jaswinder Singh for an alleged assault inside 135 West 28th Street on Wednesday, July 17 at 1:14 p.m. The victim told police that he got into an argument with Singh that turned into a physical fight. Singh allegedly slapped the victim in the neck and face, causing redness. No further information was available about what started the dispute or how Singh knew the victim.
MAN NABBED FOR PUNCHING WINDOW
Police arrested 26-year-old Jonathan Lopez for alleged criminal mischief in front of 888 Broadway on Wednesday, July 17 at 11:25 p.m. A witness told police that Lopez got into an argument with a woman and he allegedly punched a window, causing damage. The witness said that Lopez and the woman both fled before police arrived and while officers were securing the scene, Lopez returned to retrieve his belongings that he had dropped before fleeing. He allegedly told police that it was him who had broken the window but when officers attempted to arrest him, he allegedly resisted and attempted to flee again, before he was caught at the corner of East 17th Street and Park Avenue South. Lopez was transported to Bellevue Hospital for treatment because he had minor cuts on his hand from allegedly hitting the store window.
MAN ARRESTED FOR CHELSEA ASSAULT
Police arrested 26-year-old Tashaun Walls for an alleged assault at the corner of Sixth Avenue and West 23rd Street on Thursday, July 18 at 6:58 p.m. A witness told police that Walls punched the victim in the face, causing bruising and swelling, as well as a cut to the victim’s right eye. No further information was available about what started the dispute.
WOMAN BUSTED FOR WEST 19TH ST. ASSAULT
Police arrested 33-year-old Sara Buchan for an alleged assault in front of 49 West 19th Street on Friday, July 19 at 6:03 p.m. The victim told police that Buchan punched him in the face and scratched his arm, causing visible injuries. Police said that Buchan also flailed her arms to prevent being handcuffed and while in the Bellevue Emergency Room, allegedly spit in the arresting officer’s face. She was also charged with resisting arrest, an unclassified misdemeanor and aggravated harassment.
