Peter Stuyvesant Little League wins three championships

Three teams in the Peter Stuyvesant Little League took home championship banners for District 23, with teams winning in the 10U baseball, 10U softball and 11U baseball divisions.

The 10U baseball team defeated North Riverdale by a score of 10-2 on Saturday, July 6. The 10U baseball team competed in the two-week tournament with a record of 4-0. The roster included the following players: Alex Coren, Andrew McCormack, Ben Cohen, Blake Greaser, Charlie McInnis, Charlie Acierno, Daniel Godinger, Darren Turetsky, Dylan Leitner, Joey Ramos, John Daggett, John Fox, Jordan Steiger, Mateo Schachner, Milan Sood, Nikhil Parikh, Quentin Kile and Stefan Broge.

The 11U baseball team

The 10U and 11U baseball teams both went 2-2 in city-wide sectional play, ultimately falling in the championship games to Staten Island’s South Shore Little League and Great Kills National Little League, respectively. The 11U team is comprised of players ranging from ages 9 to 11.

Earlier this month, special guest Art Shamsky, 1969 Mets champion, joined PSLL summer camp to run some drills with the kids and share stories.
